Message I posted a question about that a looong time ago, and no one knew. I will have to check that out, thanks :)
Yeah, we had alot of starting problems on our GSX as well, even before my stupid move. Getting it started was a real trick; it required the choke, throttle and start button all at once. Tricky to learn, but once you get the hang of it it started pretty well. Although it fouled spark plugs every few weeks... overall the thing was NOT reliable. Kinda like a Ferrari, actually - high maintenence, but very fast when it worked. Never did lose a race, even to skis with more power (raced a Yamaha with ~150hp, and mine only has ~130). I always wanted to race an XP limited, but could never find anyone that wanted to :( Unfortunately, after it was bored out (not for performance originally - a cylinder wall had been scored, so a shop bored it out and re-sleeved it) it lost about 5mph. Not sure why, but it's not as fast as it used to be.
I just got a brand new GTX Limited though, same engine (130hp) as the the GSX but fuel injected, and man do I love it. Kind of an old man ski, a big 3 seater, but it takes waves like a monster, is really comfortable on long trips, and it's still fun to play around with despite it's weight. So far it's been extremely reliable, starts up every time.
Actually we're thinking about replacing the GSX with this new Honda turbo jetski... I wonder how it will be? Hopefully it will be good old Honda reliability. I wonder if you can raise the boost? :)
